Mordecai is a slacker, love video games and goofing off, Twilight is a avid student of magic, studying, keeping schedules and organization. Pretty much the anti-thesis of what Mordecai is.
End result, they would drive each nuts to the point that neither of would be true to their original character. Not to bash on fans of this pairing, but I had to do a \"non-shipping\" by using scenes from both shows in a first blind date between the two.
Also, given Mordecai's past experience with unicorns (Unicorns got to Go! episode), I wonder if he's not a little skeptical of dealing with another one.

I'm not entirely sure if Mordecai is completely or totally a slacker, or he's just like that because of Rigby? I've seen episodes where he wants to get a job done quickly and properly.
